What is XLR?
XLR is a project started at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2024. We create generative AI tools trained on trusted knowledge sources to answer clinical questions at point of care in a rapid, precise and accurate manner. Our system's underlying architecture is designed to minimize the risks of hallucination inherent to AI-based projects. We envision a future of collaboration between individual sites to create a knowledge base of universal clinical information combined with site-specific operational information. A robust analytics engine connected to each tool provides real time data output to power institutional research, training and teaching.
The XLR Project is funded by the Vanderbilt University Catalyst Innovation Grant.
